Senior Grandmaster Luka Prince-Ramos was born on June 13, 1947 in Honolulu Hawaii. Her journey into the world of martial arts began when she was 15 years old in Honolulu, which soon brought her under the guidance of Great Grand Master Sid Ascuncion.
Her commitment and unwavering discipline caught the attention of Sijo Adriano Emperado, the renowned martial artist recognized for his expertise in Kajukenbo. Under the tutelage of Great Grandmaster Sid Ascuncion, Sijo Emperado and her husband the legendary GGM Sixto Ramos Jr, Senior Grandmaster Luka flourished, mastering Kajukenbo KenKaBo and gaining a deep understanding of the philosophies that underpin her chosen martial art. GGM Sid Ascuncion so valued and admired her talents that he entered her school in 1973 and after 5 YEARS as a green belt personally promoted her to 3rd degree black belt and Head Instructor Rank. A feat never again duplicated by in Kajukenbo KenkaBo.
Her impeccable style in katas and point fighting have been copied the world over.
Senior Grandmaster Luka is revered for their role as a mentor and educator, not only in martial arts but in the art of Hula and Tahitian dance.
She is recognized as Kajukenbo’s FIRST WOMAN GRANDMASTER. Once recognized as the top woman competitor in Hawaii she earned dozens of local, National and International Titles in her illustrious career. These accolades earned her election into 2 International Martial Arts Hall of Fame and solidified her position as a true legend in the world of martial arts.
